The cutting edge is razor-sharp and has the 55 degree HCR hardness. The blade’s thickness at the Habaki(Motokasane) is 8 mm for the extra durability. For those who would like th slimmer and lighter blade for Iaido, we also offer 6 mm thickness for the Motokasane. With the cutting exercises of traditional straw mats or similar materials in mind, the blade is reinforced to prevent the breaking and bending.
